Bev is a former teacher and a long-time community volunteer for local nonprofits, including her church. She has taught second and fifth grades and holds a degree in history from Lake Forest College. Bev also served as the first Director of Family and Youth at First Presbyterian Church. Her volunteer work—including serving on the City of Coeur d’Alene’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee and on the Arts Commission—has given her strengths in event planning, fundraising and communication. Her late-life career as a flight attendant brought home the realization that many people in jobs with minimal pay struggle when an unexpected life event happens. She was drawn to CDAIDE because it recognizes that those who serve us every day occasionally need a little extra help. Bev serves as the communication chair on the board of directors of CDAIDE.
